Kid Cudi: Pursuit of Happiness

Kid Cudi has pretty much been the man in hip hop for 2009, but I’m not even gonna get into that right now.  That would be better left to my fellow bloggers Mr. Hoffman and Jules.  They’re a little more up on the hip hop game, and therefore I am reffering you all to them.  I just know that the Kid is good.  I’ve listened to his stuff, and it’s all super deep, and unexpected.  (Have you ever really listened to Day N Night?)  Anywho, came across this video of one of the tracks off of his album Man on the Moon: The End of Day. The song is sweet, and is featuring my boys MGMT!!!!!  I’m a fan.  It’s also featuring  Ratatat, a NYC electonic duo.  But more than the song, the video is interesting.  It offers some solid artistic value, and like high def slow mo (always cool).  It’s also narrative, so try to pick out the little story.  And here’s the kicker…The video is actually produced by Josh Hartnett.  Yes.  Josh Hartnett, that guy in 30 Days of Night and The Faculty! Not bad Josh.

My fave song on that album now is Enter Galactic but its just a crucial album over all.

Josh Hartnett??? I didn’t think he had it in him to produce, especially not produce a music video, and produce it that well. Definitely an enjoyable watch.
